Default Dry heaves

Seinfeld episode number 138. A day that will live on in infamy
The Little Kicks

Elaine & George go to a company party. It is at this party which Elaine dances. A horrid dance designed to alienate her to her coworkers, & horrify her friend George. The Little Kicks also makes an appearance in The Slicer. In Mystery Science Theater 3k Episode. Crow T. Robot notes that Elaine was a horrid dancer.

& all this trivia brings to thought why… why? would they give the ele a dance designed to be horrible by definition… why?

It is not funny. It is embarrassing. For all of us that plays an elementalist I plead with the team that designs dancing to give the core characters new dances in the next chapter.

I think it's the funniest dance in the game
It's also one of the few dances which let you kick someone

I don't want to see it replaced. Just give the core classes a /newdance type of emote. I never thought someone would actually like the dance.

Tried kicking someone, most I could do was kick them in the shins. Maybe if I aim for people that are sitting down.

No no, with correct positioning you can kick 'em in the crotch.

Nothing wrong with the dance IMO. Just shows some personality.

Make your Secondary Dervish. Cap some Avatars. They each have their own dance, so you can pick and choose your dance depending on your mood.

Yes, and without having a Dervish primary (And thus lacking Mysticism) those forms will last all of one second.

Hadn't noticed that they changed the lower end of the line since the Preview Event.

Weak.

In regards to the OP:

Since when are Elementalists supposed to be the bastion of inter-personal relations? Seems to me that, everytime I run across one, they're portrayed as being completely socially inept. Kind of makes sense that they'd have a somewhat obscure piece of pop-culture as their "dance".

I didn't expect such a strong fondness for the Male elementalists dance. If most everyone likes it so much then I must be a poor judge of the dance emote.

I don't care, I do not make male characters.

But it is true that a 'Dry Heave' then 'Conga Beat' kicks do not fit very well the 'Tuxedo-like' outfits of the Male elementalits.

The first time I saw the male ele dance I laughed pretty hard.
That Seinfeld episode immediately popped into my head with Elaine all drunk and dancing like that. They made a point in the episode of saying it's the worst dancing ever imaginable, so I can understand why a bunch of players would hate it in the game.
